Xining Airport Phase II refers to the expansion project of Xining Caojiabao International Airport, the main international airport in Xining City, Qinghai Province. The project started in 2012 and was completed in 2015 with a total investment of about 3 billion yuan.
The expansion project of Xining Airport Phase II mainly includes the construction of terminal building, runway, apron and supporting facilities. The newly built terminal covers an area of 104000 square meters and a construction area of 86000 square meters, which is more than double the area of the original terminal. At the same time, the new terminal has also introduced modern facilities and technologies to provide more convenient services, such as self-service check-in and self-service check-in.
The expanded Xining Airport has also built a new runway 2600 meters long and 45 meters wide to meet the take-off and landing needs of large aircraft. At the same time, the new apron can accommodate 12 aircraft, double the capacity of the original apron. In addition, the airport has also added related facilities, such as new aviation oil depots, power distribution equipment and communication equipment.
The expansion project of Xining Airport Phase II not only improves the comprehensive service capacity of the airport, but also creates better conditions for the aviation development of Qinghai Province. The airport has now opened a number of domestic and international routes, connecting Xining with major cities at home and abroad, and promoting the development of tourism, economic and cultural exchanges.
